Let It Snow! Challenge #5: New Year's

When I think New Year's Eve, I think glitter!  For this challenge I was inspired by my friend Victoria at Manicurator from a post long ago.

I started with a base color of  Misa A Sin Worth Committing.  What a gorgeous deep indigo blue.  I was in love at first brush stroke.  Here's the Misa by itself, two flawless coats:

Then I grabbed a whole bunch of glitter polishes and used my nail art brush to just hit the tips.  With just a bit of patience, this is a very easy nail art technique.

A friend said these looked like a city skyline!  I agree and now I love this look even more <3

Soon after doing this, I went to Florida to visit my sister and her triplets, and I broke just about every nail.  Bummer.  They were just getting to a shape I liked.  Oh, well.  They'll grow back :)

Let It Snow! Challenge #4: Christmas Holiday

For my Christmas nails, I was inspired by this pin on Pinterest.  I tried to find the exact blog post for it, but I couldn't for some reason.  ahh, the wonders of Pinterest.

So here's my Christmas tree dotticure.  My other nails are Darling Diva Polish's A Christmas Story over a England's Perceval.  Perceval is the perfect red, with a perfect formula.  You can't go wrong with any of Adina's creations.  DDP is a wonderful red and green holo layering polish.

Look at the blurry holo on the pinky!

Close up!

I love this look!  Have you ever tried a dotticure?

Let It Snow! Challenge #3: Ugly Christmas Sweater Nails

I surprised myself with how good these came out!  Can't you just picture this as an Ugly Sweater?

I used Zoya Posh as the red base color.  (I just love love love the Zoya mattes and wish they would make more.  Kinda looking forward to their new textured matte glitter polish.)  I used some Milani White on the Spot for the white lines and dots and Butter London Jack the Lad for the green Christmas trees.  The green glitter on my accent nails is Two Birds Mistletoe Kisses with Prancer & Vixen.  Love this polish!

Have you ever worn an ugly sweater?  Ever gone to one of those holiday parties?  LOL

White for Peace and Non-violence

Today's manicure is a simple white mani to honor peace and non-violence.  A very sweet idea from Rachael and Sarah over at East Coast Polish Lovers.

This is Shimmer Polish's Cassandra over Milani White on the Spot.

Adventures In Stamping: Gold

So, after I did my stamping nail art for Sue's contest, I decided that I should try to improve my stamping skills.  I had previously joined a group on facebook called Adventures in Stamping, but I never posted anything.  I figured I should give it a try and see what I can come up with.  They post pictures every Sunday and each week is a different theme or color.

My first post was gold.  You could either use it as a base or as a stamping color.  For the base colors I used the new Ulta exclusive OPI Skip the Gift Wrap for the green, OPI Goldeneye on the accent nail.  The gold polish I used for the stamping was a Color Club nail art brush and the red was A England's Perceval.

Not bad.  I used an older Bundle Monster plate so the image didn't cover the entire nail.  I will be getting some of those newer plates with the bigger images!

What do you think?  Have you ever tried stamping?

Let It Snow! Challenge #1: Snowflakes

This challenge was a fun one to do.  And it really helps to get me in the holiday mood!

I started out with A England's Iseult, the most beautiful soft pink ever.  And I am not a pink girl, but I love this polish.  The formula was perfect, as all A England polishes are.  I sponged some A Engalnd Morgan Le Fay on the tips - which is hard to see in some of these pics, but it added a nice subtle sparkle.  I painted on some snowflakes with a nail art brush and OPI Alpine White and added some A England Merlin for added silver sparkle.

Polishes used: Iseult, Morgan Le Fay and Merlin
For my thumb, I didn't want to paint another snowflake, so I just added some Merlin to the very tip of the nail and it looked very icy to me.  I loved it!
